Love the watch, bought a blue leather band from you to complement the gorgeous sapphire face. The only thing preventing 5 stars is that a small part of the reason I purchased it is that you are a Canadian company, and I am Canadian. It was shipped from the US to a US address but I was charged a foreign transaction fee, which is not right in my opinion. There has to be a way for you to prevent this because it leaves a poor taste.
Dear Alexander, Please note that all of our US orders are assembled in Blaine, Washington and all International and Canadian orders are assembled at our Canadian office in Vancouver. We actually have two sites for this reason: ca.momentumwatch.com (Canadian customer site, prices are in CAD) momentumwatch.com (US/International customer site, prices are in USD) As for the foreign transaction fee, would you mind clarifying it / emailing us regarding it? I don't see any additional charges on the purchase, just a discount. The only thing I could think of is a conversion charge by paypal or your bank provider if you ordered in USD but paid in CAD. Also, if you were order to a US location again but would prefer the watch to be assembled in Vancouver, just make a note and we would be happy to do so for you :) All the best, Pascal Pennell Momentum Watches
I first heard of Momuntum while browsing the Watch It! Store and I was surprised to hear that they were Canadian. In the shop, they only had the divers, and while beautiful, they are somewhat large for my 6.75 inch wrist. From that moment, I would periodically checkout the Momentum website for sub-40mm watches that would appeal to me. The first time I saw the Atlas Blue Sapphire Special Edition online, I was smitten. Unfortunately, it was not in stock, but I continuously checked the site. When I saw back in stock, I had to get it. Now, I would not normally but a watch sight-unseen, but I'm a sucker for a nice sub-40mm field watch, so I took the plunge. The transaction was smooth and the watch was shipped within a day, but due to the pandemic and the outbreak at the Mississauga Canada Post sorting plant, I was tortured with an additional week of waiting. BUT IT WAS WORTH IT!!! The pictures online do not donut justice. The sunburst dual is beautiful and the printing on the dial is very precise. It even arrived already ticking and set to my timezone. Nice touch. It is perfect for my wrist size. If I was asked for some constructive criticism, the only think I could come with is that I wish the line was a little brighter. This is a great watch and well worth the investment. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
I've been wearing this daily for almost a year now and it still looks great. Pros: The blue face is deep, lustrous, and beautiful. It still strikes me despite seeing it every day. The quartz movement is excellent. It doesn't seem to miss more than a second or two a month. Cons: Luminosity leaves much to be desired. The date window is quite small and without magnification can be difficult for my eyes to read. All in all, this is a fantastic little watch. Tough to beat for the price.
I purchased this watch about a month ago and have been wearing it daily since. My favorite aspect is the sapphire blue dial which is remarkably deep and lustrous in color, causing it to change hue depending upon the light. It really is a beautiful little watch. Likewise, it is light, comfortable, and a joy to wear. The leather band was too large for my 6.00" wrist, so I put it on a grey Perlon strap which gives it more a field watch look. The Japanese quartz movement has yet to lose a second which is amazing for the price. My only complaint is the lackluster luminosity. Even after soaking up a day of Colorado sun, it loses any sign of glow after a few minutes of darkness. Unfortunately, I still need my cellphone to tell the time in bed.
Beautiful, simple watch. The face is a dark blue/black, the movement of the second hand actually corresponds to the second markings, and the thing isn’t gaudy... I’d describe it as understated without being boring. The sapphire lens is slightly curved, but not such that it’ll get damaged. And sapphire lenses really are better than mineral lenses; with time, the case gets dinged with use, but the sapphire lens strangely stays perfect. Beautifully simple watch! This is my second Momentum watch... loved the first, but it got mangled in a machine... long story.
