In 1977, our founder’s original company, Chronosport, launched the Sea Quartz 30 — the world’s first analog quartz dive watch. It quickly became a legend, worn by pro divers and Hollywood icons alike, including Tom Selleck in the early seasons of Magnum P.I.

Now, we’re bringing the story full circle. Inspired by the "Pepsi" bezel on Selleck’s later Rolex GMT, we’ve created the Sea Quartz 30 GMT: a faithful evolution of the original, featuring a bold red-and-blue bezel and a new dual time-zone function.

You’ll get the same vintage styling, ultra-legible lume, rugged 300M/1000FT water resistance, and compact, short lug-to-lug fit — now with the added freedom to track two time zones at once.

The Original Magnum P.I. Watch

In the early 1980’s, CBS launched the TV series Magnum PI. Set in Hawaii, it starred Tom Selleck. The series consistently ranked in the top 20 U.S. television programs for several years, finishing as high as number 3 for the 1982–83 season. And the watch that Tom Selleck wore for the first 3 seasons? Of course, it was the original Chronosport Sea Quartz 30. So we thought, why not combine the original Sea Quartz with the other watch he wore... the Pepsi GMT.

Authentic History, Better Performance

The Sea Quartz 30 models from the 1980’s have built an almost cult-like following with Magnum fans, divers, and watch fanatics. To make them proud, we recreated the Sea Quartz 30 as closely as possible to the original. Our historical connection to Chronosport meant we could send genuine cases, dials, hands, and bezels directly to our factories so they could analyze and match the design. Of course, we wanted to make some key improvements. The dial, hands, and bezel now feature C3 Super-LumiNova for vastly improved lume performance over the original. The original watch also featured a mineral bezel and crystal, which has been replaced with scratchproof sapphire for unmatched durability.
