Our Commitment to the Outdoors

Here at Momentum, we are big on the outdoors. Headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, we live beside the ocean and up against the mountains, where we test our watches every day, diving, cycling, wakeboarding, paddling, climbing, hiking, skiing and more. With all the time we spend outside, we know how critical it is to protect our environment.

We pride ourselves on the longevity and functionality of our products. We believe that building products that last is the best way to protect the environment. We want our customers to wear their watches for as long as possible (We often meet customers who have been wearing our watches for 25+ years!). In a world where time moves fast and so many products are designed to be replaced every few years, we work to make products that will stand the test of time. That is why we offer up to 6 years of warranty coverage on our watches, with regular 2-year servicing.

In 2020, we started shipping all Momentum watches in new giftboxes that are made of paper/cardboard and are completely recyclable. (Even the watch “cushion” uses bio-degradable latex rubber and cotton canvas.) This means if you do not need the giftbox, it can be easily disposed of with any paper recycling.

With more and more electronic products in our lives, there is a steady increase in the number of batteries that end up in landfills. Some Momentum models, like our M50, use special long-life batteries, which only need to be replaced every 8-10 years. Momentum also recycles all the batteries we use in our Service Centre.

To further reduce battery usage, Momentum is adding great new solar-powered watches to our collection. This technology uses special titanium-lithium-ion cells, which are constantly recharged by light hitting the dial of the watch: the brighter the light, the faster the charge! This virtually eliminates the need for regular battery changes and service. Even without any light, our “ECLIPSE” models run for up to 6 months in pitch darkness, once they are charged up. All this means less servicing, less batteries in landfills, less shipping back-and-forth and a significant decrease in the cost of ownership over time.
