The Steelix Eclipse may look like our best-selling Steelix Field Watch, but do not be fooled. Under the dial is a state-of-the-art solar movement that charges in any light, allowing the Eclipse to run for up to 6 months in pitch darkness. Say good-bye to regular battery changes.
All Steelix models feature high-quality screw-down crowns that thread into the case and feature water sealing gaskets, giving the Steelix a 200M depth rating. The screw-down feature also ensures the crown won't pop-out accidentally. The crown is off-set to the 4 o'clock position so it does not dig into the wrist, creating a more comfortable fit.
A great value in a classic "field" look but superior with solar and sapphire.
I was fortunate enough to get the green-faced version. Classic field watch but with solar and sapphire. Took out three links - easily (Just remember that putting the pins back in goes opposite to the arrows). Just ordered the grey-faced version.
Superior Customer Service
Called for information about what turned out was a dozen-year-old discontinued model I had seen on sale. Courteously answered al my questions. Class operation.
Great customer support, awesome watch! Feels great on the wrist. Very happy to support a Canadian company.
Perfect watch for EVERY occasion.
I have owned this watch now for a few months and, in my collection, it is quickly becoming one of my favourites. The simplicity of the design is what originally drew me to it. The Steelix has a ‘Panerai-like’ elegance to it, it simply lends itself to any occasion; I have worn it with a suit-and-tie, while hiking and recently at the beach/ocean while on vacation… it is never out of place! The 22mm lugs on the Steelix are a great size for sourcing different bands. I have had it on the original NATO, on black leather with orange stitching, on orange silicone and on a shark-mesh. The black NATO is still may favourite. If I had to nitpick, I would have liked the lume to be a bit longer-lasting. It is great once charged, but it doesn’t last long. I used to own a St. Moritz watch a few years ago that had excellent lume, so I had hoped this would be the same. Another small complaint (which most people would not care about) is the fact that the second hand does not hit the markers but ticks in between. I know this is common to many mass-produced quartz watches but, considering that Momentum watches are assembled in-house, I would have appreciated this detail to be noticed and adjusted before shipping. Regardless of the two minor complaints, I am VERY happy with this watch; no regrets whatsoever. It is a beautiful field watch that I am sure I will enjoy for many, many years.
My first watch
I’ve been wearing the steelix eclipse on a “it goes where I go” basis for almost a month and I can positively say it’s built like a tank. I don’t baby it either, it gets wet and banged around all the time. It is also very comfortable, legible, decent glow in the dark on hands and numbers, and the solar charging is a big plus. Big thanks to momentum for being innovative and a great company.
