The Essential Dive Watch
For those who appreciate a straightforward dive watch design that can be worn anywhere. 316L stainless steel case, available with sapphire crystal, and a smooth 120-click bezel… all at a price that doesn’t hurt the wallet.
All Torpedo models feature high-quality, screw-down crowns that thread into the case for an extra-reliable waterproof seal, giving the Torpedo a 200M/660FT depth rating. The screw-down feature also ensures that the crown won't pop-out accidentally. The crown is off-set to the 4 o'clock position so it does not dig into the wrist, for optimum comfort.
My second Momentum, not disappointed. Hefty, well built timepiece. Purchased as I liked the uniqueness of face and painted handset. Bracelet is exceptional quality, Affordable, Canadian company that produces exceptional pieces. Thanks for enabling my vice!
Dear Tony, Thank you so much for supporting our small local brand, and taking the time to write such a nice review :) We greatly appreciate it, and hope your Torpedo holds for years and years to come! Regards, Pascal P Momentum Watches
I bought this watch as a memory when I got my Canadian Citizenship. I chose this one specifically because its says 'made in Vancouver' and I loved the design. Glad to have a Canadian submariner type watch
I was introduced to Momentum and this watch at my local watch shop. Was not looking to buy a dive watch in particular but the price and build quality of this watch urged me to buy it! Best decision. It has now been two years and this is my everyday watch over any of my other watches. Because it is so robust and well made. Over the years it has earned its scratches and marks, giving it even more character. This watch is my companion for mountain biking, skiing, swimming in the lake, work and school. Also, it is great to be supporting a local company, and it is great feeling that they are making some great quality watches. Next? Hopefully the Aquamatic III S, as my first Swiss Watch.
Have been wearing this watch for half a year. Five stars for: readability, creamy-white full face lume (not green tint), ruggedness, and striking looks. Bezel has 120 clicks and just the right amount of resistance: easy to turn but stays put when set. I like the sterile bezel (ie, no painted-in numbers). With the free sapphire upgrade it's an unbeatable deal. Oversize crown is handy but seldom needed. Would love to own a countdown bezel version of this watch. Crits: the watch is a little taller than it needs to be at 12.2 mm and there's room to spare beneath the crystal; maybe on a redesign this watch could be thinned by 1-2mm, which would make it even more wearable. Also it would be nice to have a lume upgrade available for extra expense, but as is, it's good for several hours into the night.
This is my second Momentum watch, my first being the similar Torpedo Blast. I travel a lot, and sm hard on equipment, so I was interested in the ruggedness of a dive watch that would stand up to rough treatment but also not be outovf place in meetings and more formal situations. My only gripe with the Torpedo Blast was that I couldn't see the numbers/hands through the night. The lume wasn't quite strong enough. This was remedied with this watch--the greater luminous surface area gets me almost all through the night able to read the time. Everything else about this watch is as impeccably crafted as the Torpedo Blast. I've yet to found a quibble, and I constantly feel like it's a lot more watch than I paid for. As a result, it's become my daily wear champion. I wear it to formal meetings, but also worn for rugged use in the Rocky Mountains, the Pamirs, Afghanistan, and North Africa. The sapphire lens is still immaculate, and the rest of the watch is like new.
