Solar-Powered Movement

The Steelix Eclipse may look like our best-selling Steelix Field Watch, but do not be fooled. Under the dial is a state-of-the-art solar movement that charges in any light, allowing the Eclipse to run for up to 6 months in pitch darkness. Say good-bye to regular battery changes.

200M Water-Resistance

All Steelix models feature high-quality screw-down crowns that thread into the case and feature water sealing gaskets, giving the Steelix a 200M depth rating. The screw-down feature also ensures the crown won't pop-out accidentally. The crown is off-set to the 4 o'clock position so it does not dig into the wrist, creating a more comfortable fit.

Incredible watch

It looks great (I managed to scratch the case within half an hour but it was a relief to get it over with so I can wear it with confidence.) The lume is very good and charges quickly, the translucent dial over the solar panel is subtle but very cool, and the three-tone blue looks phenomenal in any light. I had to put a different strao on it because I have small wrists but I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants dive watch durability without the bezel.

A great, but not perfect solar field watch.

First off, I really do like this watch a lot. I love the look of it, whenever I see it, it reminds me of the engine cowling of an old DC3 airplane. Perhaps I'm just weird though. The watch is well built and designed. It feels a lot smaller then a 44mm watch should. Momentum were great to deal with. They were more then happy to swap out the strap of my blue faced watch with the a black Goma one (which is an awesome strap by the way) and wrote a nice note on the packing slip. Currently looking for another solar watch; a solar M50 with a non-black dial would equal "take my money!" - just sayin' - thanks for a great experience! Oh yeah, the not to great aspect in the lume. In my opinion it's really bad. But I typically don't use it anyways on any watch, so this isn't a deal breaker for me, but i know people whose this would be a deal breaker. It's virtually impossible to tell the time after only a few minutes in the dark.

Fantastic self powered watch

Makes a great adventure watch with ruggedness and style. I’m a automatic watch person but wanted something self powered, reliable, durable and would be proud to wear. The Steelix Eclipse is it. Seems quite accurate in keeping time and takes the abuse of cycling, off-roading, and other outdoor pursuits. Feels solid and comfort on the wrist and the face is very legible. This is a locally sourced, and better alternative to another solar powered watch.

A great modern field watch

I came across Momentum's website when I was looking to see if there were any local watchmakers here in Vancouver. When I first saw the Steelix Eclipse, I knew I wanted it. A tanky field watch with a diver's level of water resistance and a solar movement? Yes please. Wearing the watch has been pretty awesome. The watch case fits perfectly on top of my wrist with the lugs wrapping around it and the Goma Rubber strap is nice and comfy. Also, the movement keeps great time. I've been very happy with this watch, and I feel safe knowing that if I ever need to get something fixed, I could just drive to Momentum and get it checked out.

A damn fine watch indeed.

Having spotted the Steelix on I was immediately interested. I knew I wanted a non-smart *** watch but there are many options. However, there aren't many options that are this well done. These are durable, easy to read, the battery should last a very long time, although we will see, and have quality components inside. They are assembled in Canada, have excellent customer service and do not completely break the bank like some other more well known brands. So I'm v happy to say that I own this watch. If you think owning one might be a good idea, I would like to suggest to you that you are absolutely correct. Five stars.
